So why isn't it possible to convert video to audio
Well, the answer really isn't that complicated. We built WAVConverter.com to be the most intuitive and effective audio file converter on the internet, with development driven by the principle that oftentimes simple is best. We like things that just work and make sense!Let's look at a couple of reasons why audio to video conversion totally does not make sense......like at all.
-
MOV Is Primarily a Video Container
MOV, for example, is designed for video and audio streams, but primarily video. Converting audio into a format like MOV means wrapping audio in a video file, but since there's inherently no video stream in the converted output we'd need to provide a dummy or static image placeholder for the file to be viable. This isn't true for audio conversion which makes it a much easier process.
-
File Size Inefficiency
Video containers tend to include additional metadata and structure designed specifically for video content. This results in larger file sizes without offering any benefit when no actual video content is present, making it unnecessary
-
Redundant with Existing Tools
If you need to embed audio into a video file (for example, to upload to video-based platforms like YouTube or Instagram), there are specialized tools and video editors designed for that task. Think iMovie or Adobe Premiere Pro. Such functionality goes far beyond the scope of our audio converter.
So you see? It didn't make sense to us to spend extra time and resources building functionality to enable conversions that are uncommon or inefficient or redundant.
We believe that by saving resources on such redundancies we can focus on the primary goal of the tool and deliever a much better experience that keeps our users coming back time and time again.
